HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUPE FIASCO!
our good friend LUPE celebrated his birthday yesterday (not today, the WIKIPEDIA is wrong). he turns the big 2-7. ELLE and I caught up with him for a moment and gave him a birthday hug. had we been prepared, we would have done a Magic Show in his honor – but, he failed to mention it was his birthday until the last minute! BOYS! oy vey.
life: GO ICE SKATING!
yay, i wanted to go ice skating all winter and finally did it this past weekend. haven’t been since i was like 11. around the same time i wanted to be like the MIGHT DUCKS. anyways, i didn’t fall because – i was suprised because my balance is non-existent.
there were some really good little kids getting their TONYA HARDING on. there were also kids who looked like they were being tortured as they would fall non-stop and cry, but their parents would brush them off and make them continue on a frightening journey. poor little ones

when i was interviewed for this a couple months ago, i had no idea what it would really end up being like. not only am i featured as the 23rd most stylish person by VIBE MAGAZINE in a list of only 31. i’m alongside some insanely big stars — like Rihanna (number 1) and Kanye (number 2)!!! hello, and then i’m on there?! also featured, our friends RICKY and DEE.
please cop the issue. the photo (taken by MARLEY KATE for PEGLEGNYC’s FW08 campaign) of me makes me “tough” according to ELLE – “you look like you just flicked a cigarette and said let’s take this damn photo”. haha, i think i look weird and my name is spelled wrong – AGAIN.

yay for physical mail, that doesn’t consist of bills and jury summons (oy vey)! i got a special messengered package from my dude LIL PENNY. it consisted of a handwritten note and his own chocolates in the shape of coins – pennies to be exact!
also, ELLE and i received some amazing sneaker cleaning products with nice packaging from JASON MARKK. it’s a brilliant idea, and the whole presentation is clean! if you guys don’t know about it, you must check it out. the perfect gifts for the sneaker fiends in your life! (thanks again).
life: NEW YORK CITY CLUBS with OSCAR, ELLE, SABEL, RAUL and CHUCK INGLISH
last night CHUCK INGLISH was in town and we all got together to hang out. he played me THE COOL KIDS about-to-be finished album and i almost died…it’s seriously retarded! anyways, there weren’t many parties and we ended up going to some NYC clubs that are “high end” and pride themselves on the model clients who attend. that’s fine, but we couldn’t help but feel like ugly midgets while the pretty giants pushed through us (literally).
first, it was 1 OAK and then we left and attempted SOUTHSIDE. in theory, it should’ve been easy to get in – but, dude at the door wouldn’t let all of us in. it always makes me giggle when you try to go to these clubs and there’s no line outside and the door guy just denies you because he feels like it – you guys know what i’m talking about. it feels so ’99. to each his own, i guess.
oh well. i’m ok being average in height and mediocre in attire

we had a good time wandering in the rain. 1 OAK was fun and SOUTHSIDE wasn’t because…we didn’t go in. just an FYI that both my parties, 1992 (with me and OSCAR) and OPEN (with me, Q TIP and RICH MEDINA), have an open door policy and we’d love to see all your cute faces there!!!

shoutout to DJ NITA, LADY FAG and ONE HALF NELSON for inviting OSCAR and I to host for the second time at MR. BLACKS. saturday night, we went to midtown to celebrate a night with PALMS OUT SOUND and a performance by LEIF! i, of course, wore the same outfit as the day before because i’m lazy and trife – what!?

valentines day is one of my favoritest holidays (next to halloween). this is the day that you show extra love and attention to the ones closest to you…and just another holiday that corporations can suck more money out of you! hope it’s a good one for you all!

as if being harvested in a womb for nine months, only to be born abruptly into a cold world, wasn’t enough to scare the life out of you. this poor little baby is trying to sleep in his new world next to his snoring uncle. the unknown sound freaks this little lamb out. sorry kid, life only gets harder and more frightening…
lunch break from JURY DUTY (ugh)…
first of all, THANK YOU to all of you who commented and gave me some super rad advice. i’m still waiting in a big room to be called for duty. i’m keeping the faith like BILLY JOEL and i hope i end up in music court!
and for the CAROLINA fans out there, my home slice ERIN (aka the biggest CAROLINA fan) sent me this video. since, i’m ADHD when it comes to sports i am happily neutral to the DUKE and CAROLINA game tonight, but i like to root for the underdog…so we will see! (but, secretly thanks to ERIN, i am cheering for CAROLINA — power to the people!!!)
