BONE MARROW DRIVE for JASMINA – APRIL 1st in NYC!!!
if you are in the NEW YORK CITY AREA tomorrow, APRIL 1st…please, please, please go and get swabbed to see if you would be a bone marrow donor for JASMINA. it could save this beautiful 6 year old girls life.
the process literally took less than a minute. i was in and out in under 10 minutes. you fill out forms, get swabbed and then you’re done!
take a look at the drive from SUNDAY that i attended. we gathered the troops and headed out early.
*in the cab, JASMINAS commercial was on.
*AMNTM has nothing on this girl!
*1: after you meet the specifications of being a donor, you fill out your information.
*2: get swabbed, easy breezey!
*3: DONE! then you take a picture! we were all half asleep. 10 am is early for sunday!
*some of us were really not happy about being up so early, but we did it!

secretly i’ve fallen in love with my gym because you can do cardio and stare directly into your own tv. its weird being plugged into machines but, i get to watch all kinds of music videos which makes my soul rejoice.
this morning i caught THE CURE – “PICTURES OF YOU” video!!! i had no idea there was even a video. i am SUCH a fan. not to mention this song came off “DISINTEGRATION” – which is the best album ever. i saw them perform in ALBANY when i was 14 and that moment still has not left me.
as i watched the video, i remembered back to when i was 14. i had a boyfriend who i was smitten with. he was older (16 i think), played drums in a band, had dyed my hair blue with manic panic, and we’d spend hours on the phone just talking about music and music videos.
after our summer long romance resulted in me not “sealing the deal”. i wrote him a long letter where my broken heart poured out how much i “loved” and missed him while quoting lyrics from this song…

anyways, i still know him today. he’s actually doing his music thing professionally and he’s happily married with a beautiful son

yes – i thought that title was inappropriate, but they call cats that and it was a catchy. anyways, her name is LOLA and she’s adorable. some of you don’t like cats, but look at that kitty go! this made me appreciate how animals just live their life like TI, and if they got 3 legs — well, damn it, they got 3 legs and the keep on! we humans get so caught up in emotions. here’s to “MAKING IT WORK” with what we got!

if you don’t know, DANTE of DFC is an amazing chef that fries up FRIED NUGGETZ for dat ass! not only is he just adorable, he makes killer food and last week sunday he invited all his talented friends to DJ and perform while his food was passed out. he also does a cooking show with friends and the most recent episode was shot with our new bud THEOPHILUS LONDON (and not too long SANTOGOLD, but soon to be 1992).

me too, kid! back in highschool my friend would blare this one METALLICA – “Ride The Lighting” cassette tape until one day it broke his deck. anyways, they have hits for days…but, one of my favorites is “For Whom The Bell Tolls”. it’s so epic and hessian! what? my nickname was “Chainsaw” for a reason!
remix: Q TIP/ “We Fight We Love” feat. KANYE and CONSEQUENCE
so, TIP hits me and asks if i heard my name on his super dope brand new remix. i hadn’t, so he sent me the track and there it was. CONSEQUENCE says…”she be up in the club where VASHTIE goes”, haha. i don’t know if it just happened to rhyme with the previous line “classy hoes” or if it was meant to be – regardless, i’m excited SHOUTOUT TO CONS FOR THE SHOUTOUT!!! and SHOUTOUT TO Q TIP FOR THE DOPE REMIX!!!
