PHILLIP and MARCELLA get hitched!!! CELEBRATION at MR. WEST 4/5
PHILLIP and MARCELLA exchanged vows a couple weeks ago, in an intimate ceremony. on APRIL 5th, they held a private event for friends and family to share in their marital bliss. it was very sweet and happy. special congrats to them!!! i was there years ago when the two met!

1992 DJ the TOSHOP OPENING NYC – 4/4
and so it was, OSCAR and I were to DJ at the grand opening of TOPSHOP! we assumed the other DJ’s would get into rock/dance music — so we went for a hood effect, playing jams that employees would know. i went from a DEPECHE MODE/JOY DIVISION feel into JAY-Z and THE CLIPSE. OSCAR held the girls down with BOBBY VALENTINO and KELIS. it was fun!
*i saw a couple of my EURO blog reading gals, but didn’t have a moment to come downstairs. thanks to those of you who came to support
*if YOUNG SCOOZLE hadn’t been there, OSCAR and I would have failed completely at our mission. very special thanks to him for being our TECH GUY (OSCAR, you officially cannot have jokes on the poor guy).
*they served us yummy cookies and scones. i was also expecting tea and crumpets

for those of you who don’t know, GRACE is my good friend and mentor. she has truly been a crucial part in the realization of my dreams. not only with directing, but as head of the creative department at ISLAND DEF JAM she brought me in – giving me an executive position at a super young age.
she always believed in me and i am forever indebted to her for that. at the same time, she’s been an amazing friend that has always guided me on the right path.
she’s accomplished, grounded, intelligent, and beautiful. her name says it all. i admire her and love her dearly! H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y G R A C E!

*MAMIE! she has a spa called MAMIES SKINCARE CENTER. GRACE (of course) put me on to her a couple years ago. she does everyone from JADA PINKETT to me. believe it or not, prior to visiting MAMIE i was using bar soap to wash my face like a dude. i highly recommend you see her for a facial, and tell her i sent you!

yes yes ya’all. TOPSHOP is finally in the U-S of A. although, TI has nothing to do with it – i just liked the way his line sounded
legendary JUSTINE D. asked OSCAR and i to DJ one of the opening days at the store – we were so excited! we’re on deck with some amazing names; JAMES MURPHY, JUSTINE D., THE MISSHAPES, ANDREW ANDREW and many many mas.
TOPSHOP requested that were have a uniform and gave us a shopping spree before the store opened – it was murder! the store is absolutely “sitting” (ask your local gay friend what that means)!
our time slot is SATURDAY 6-8 pm. come check us out and say hello. i’m going euro and OSCAR will be going neo-soul-ish.

the fitting was so much fun. they paired me with a STYLE ADVISOR. she was amazing and so helpful. i honestly HATE trying on clothes. it’s so time consuming and exhausting, but she made it bearable.
*deciding what to wear was hard…but i came to a decision and it wasn’t the batty riders pictured here!

later i went to visit the fellas at BBC…and our favorite mascot RUFF LAUREN, aka RUFFY.

CHUCK INGLISH of THE COOL KIDS first put me on to miss JADE about a year ago. they had done a song together that i absolutely loved. her voice is haunting and strangely sweet.

then recently, JASON SCOTT requested some VIOLETTE gear for her shoot. i met up with him and her and we chatted a bit over espresso and tea. she’s definitely dope…very cool and creative. i think you guys will dig her sound – i’m addicted.
