RIP: JOHN HUGHES (director)
2009 has been such an emotional year with so many deaths. my childhood is slowly being shredded and my heart feels like it’s being ripped out of my chest by that Indian dude from Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom.
JOHN HUGHES has passed away.
JOHN HUGHES!!!
“Breakfast Club”, “Sixteen Candles”, Weird Science”, “Home Alone”, “Uncle Buck”, “She’s Having a Baby”, “Ferris Buellers Day Off”, and more movies that were brilliant, funny and captured youth better than the musical high school movies that kids have today. (i’m sorry…i’m just sad).
He passed away today from a heart attack while taking a morning walk in New York City. He was 59 and his writing/directing genius had a profound effect on my childhood and a major influence on my early interest in directing.

WHERE YOU AT?!
ok, a few months ago i did a post titled “WHERE YOU AT”, because i was interested in knowing all the places ya’ll represent. having a website allows you to see a map of where your readers are stationed, the US and the UK rank the highest…but, i want to know (big or small) where are you little darlings repping?

watch: “HEAVENLY CREATURES” directed by PETER JACKSON
this is an amazing film done in 1994 based on the famous PARKER-HULME MURDER in 1954 New Zealand. 2 young girls, Pauline Parker and Juliet Hulme, that had an obsessive, strange, and sexual relationship with each other that led to them carefully planning a violent murder of Pauline’s mother.
using real diary entries and writings between the girls, the film comes to life. it dips back in from reality to imagination, giving you an understanding of who these girls were and how their minds took them into far off places.

and…about a week and a half ago i purchased my PEGLEG x UNION watch to support my homies at both companies. it was nice to have it hand delivered by the guys themselves. wait a minute…i paid for 2 day shipping! i want my refund (shaking my fist)…

“fina-lee-ee-ee” like Ce Ce Peniston, the video i directed and starred in (yes, you read that right) last year in LAS VEGAS has officially been released!!! it was so much fun working with JUNIOR and the MADDEN BOYS!
side story of why i’m cast as JOEL MADDEN’S “love interest”…the casting director brought in a lot of ladies, but none of them fit the vision for the video. JOSH MADDEN made a suggestion that i be the girl that it would be a more of a fun collaboration/cameo and more realistic than the girl options we had. i was completely against the idea and we went down to the hotel lobby and approached every girl that fit the bill, but we couldn’t wrangle one! there was one last resort and she was so nervous that went to hotel bar and got wasted to calm her nerves, making it impossible to shoot her. so…i took one for the team and it was actually a lot of fun.
*seriously, it was the easiest to work with this dudes. JOEL was so patient and cool as a fan.

saturday morning we landed in the city of sin. we checked in to our nice rooms at the WYNN, had a brief production meeting and met my amazing DP BRANDON COX. after, tried to kick it at the pool…10 minutes later i was alerted that our location (the HARDWOOD SUITE at the PALMS) was available for scouting. so, we ran over there…
*i could marry this bed.

*it was 100 degrees out, but surprisingly not painful.

*yes, a basketball court in the two floor suite. there were also 3 queen sized beds behind doors
that pulled out on the court! there were so many rooms and crazy bathrooms in there, it was crazy!

*i couldn’t turn down a dare when ROB said we should smoke some cigars. i haven’t smoked a cigar since i was 5. yes, you heard me right. my crazy, drunk, west indian dad thought it would be funny if i smoked cigars…and also sipped Heinikens. anyways, cigars have a not so good taste, but somehow they are still fun to puff…

thanks to GREGGLES for this one. JEFF SHARLET has published a book that exposes “The Family”. check him on BILL MAHR speaking on the very topic. i won’t say too much because i don’t want to get choked out with a rosary. i would pay BIG money to see all the mafias of the world fight…right?!
life: RESTING IN THE CITY
friday night was far from typical. i was instructed to rest and i did just that. no SANTOS for me 
my sister came to visit and we just laid backed, kicked it and enjoyed the ride.

life: SOBE SUMMER FRIDAYS – MISSHAPES – IL BAGGATO – RUNWAY SHOW (PEGLEG and more…)
so, after nearly 2 weeks of being sick and my doctor instructing me to “rest”…i left my cave to support my friends at PEGLEG with their runway show at SOBE and attempt to eat some free italian food from IL BAGGATO. stomach flu had me eating bread and potatoes…but, i still managed to lose 4 pounds! hmmm. i should bottle the stomach flu and sell it!
