GIL SCOTT HERON…makes me think of days when i stumbled upon great music at record stores and through conversations with music loving friends as a teenager. the same time when we were questioning government, history books, god and man. we were young, broke and full of dreams. years have passed, but those days still feel like the most spectacular. GIL SCOTT brings me back to that feeling.

I love Gil, I’m sixteen, and full of a wonder for this world. My favorite Gil is in between “Beginnings (The First Minute of a New Day)” and “We Almost Lost Detroit.”
I really enjoy your blog. I have been a faithful visitor for the past year or so. Keep up the positivity; I am so tired of bloggers turning positive news to negativity. I get enough of that by just living. Much success to you in all endeavors. One.

GSH is simply a literary and musical genius. I saw a documentary on the BBC the other day and couldn’t believe what I’d missed in the 70s! His The Revolution Will Not Be Televised should be essential listening in schools and universities. He has such a perceptive mind. Brilliant and I can;t wait for the new album.
