Actually Jeffrey Daniel of Shalamar started it and it was called the Backslide. Not that dude from the Gap Band. Watch Shalamar’s Unsung on TV One. Or ask me, he’s my uncle. this is dope though, see ray charles all the way to chris brown in this.

I didn’t say Baby Gap started the “backslide”, I said that Baby Gap taught MJ how to “backslide”. Jeffrey Daniel aka “Pop a-long kid” then I believe he changed his name to “Colonal PoP” was really dope back in the days, definitely a fan. I know that he was the first to “backslide” on television.

Actually, it was Geron “Casper” Candidate and Jeffrey Daniels, who taught Mike to moonwalk, but it wasn’t acctually called the moonwalk because it wasn’t exicuted in a complete circle. They were both dancers on Soul Train when Mike discoverd them. It’s actually called the “backslide”. People say it was Poppin Taco, but it wasn’t. He didn’t come along till the Thriller video and beyond. MJ learned the backslide, “moonwalk” right before “Motown 25th”… This coming from a 30 yr fan of the King! I’ve been following this man’s every move both personal and proffecional since I was 4, trusr me!
