it seems to me everyone is missing the role her parents are playing is this. this kid isn’t buying her own clothes and dressing herself. she looks like she has a frekin stylist. you thinks this child can articulate why she is wearing what she is wearing or why se wore her hair like a boy on Wednesday and down and feathered on Thursday. get the f outa here. talk to the parents theres no mystery here.

Shiloh’s so cute, She looks a lot like her Dad (no pun). They should’ve kept it plain Androg though…like greaser style would fit the cut… Motojacket , some lil’ red vans Authentics, worn in Skinnies, Youth size “Handsome Devil” Tee (^_^) … I can see that for Shiloh! She seems to be very conservatively dressed, like a young Ellen and it doesn’t match the ill cut.

P.S. Vash was merely talking about the choice of clothing… Not any gender specific overblown topics. Her an Elle were just saying maybe Shiloh needs a stylist ^_* . Vash you need to get that youth violette on deck and get up with the Shiloh Pitts!

Vash, I love your blog and all but this post is a bit insensitive. it just clothe and as a child we all go through all those faces. so for you to be so critical of a three old child is very telling.

Kids should be off limits. is our societies values so disarrayed that we spend time talking about a three old girl, who likes to dress, however she feels and not thinking about anything, or being “creative freedom”or being abled to pull it off?
im not here to bash Vash, nor should i suck up to her because its blog. real fans/viewers of this blog should be subject to open criticism the same way vashtie post her content or else there shall be no need for a comment section.

to worry about how another parent is parenting their child when you don’t have one of your own, or can not parent yourself.

I love the blog, the subliminal message behind Shiloh’s wardrobe is uncalled for.

I’m on the fence about the androgynous dress code for a three-year-old but I was weirded out when Brad said that at home Shiloh prefers to be called John. Cultural recognition of gender exists for a reason and I don’t find it to be oppressive or repressive. I think that they should raise, treat, and address her as a girl and then when she comes of a more mature mind to make her own decisions then she should make them. Being counter-culture at the age of three is more an act of capriciousness than rational thought.

KB, I think you totally misinterpreted what V$ was saying. She’s not bashing transgendered folks. She’s making a light joke about her style. If you read her blog you’d know she isn’t saying anyting mean about the gay/bi/trans community.

And for you to assume that this girl is on her way to being transgendered is very presumptuous.

Well… if she’s lesbian/bi (they say people are born into a sexual preference), good thing she’s acknowledging/knows it as a kid, instead of being confused in her teens.

Or maybe she just likes to dress that way. I dressed like a tomboy all the time as a kid!

I think it’s alright for her to dress that way, though, she’s only 3. It doesn’t matter if she turns out a lesbian, completely straight, or a reality tv star/rapper when she gets older. As long as it’s her decision and she’s happy with herself, it’s all good. That’s why I hate those tabloids. Only God can judge. And besides, they’re kids!

After spewing out a crapload worth of comment: I agree with you Vashtie, Shiloh gets cool points from me– a kick$%7 jacket and a funky hairdo and she’s good.

pretty insensitive post about transgender folks. calling someone “that”? a kid’s freedom of expression/dress habits are just that. it’s crazy how we project our notions of gender on kids and think girls should be all frilly dresses and pink. i figured a self-proclaimed “tom-boy” would be a little more understanding…

well, that’s hella insane !!

I saw a documentary about something like that.. they even gave kids male hormones.. this kids were around 7 !!!

And now the worse part: If you are a girl and you take male hormons as a kid (or as an adult), you’re going to get barren !!!!

In what an insane world do we live ??
