RANDOM: I’m Coming To A City Near You & Need YOUR Help!

Good Morning Babes and Boo’s!

So, I may or may not be on a WORLD TOUR for 2013 and I need the help of you locals. Since I am “Downtown’s Sweetheart” repping New York City, I can tell you a thing or two about the Rotten Apple. But – because I don’t live elsewhere, it’s hard for me to truly know what’s up in other cities. This is where you guys can help me out!

Below is a list of cities that I may or may not be coming to. If you live there or you know a thing or two about this city, holler at a playette so we can take pictures together and /or have a dance-off (your choice, but I’m letting you know now – I will lose the dance-off).

WHAT I NEED TO KNOW:

They Don’t Have To Be Huge Names. They Could Just Be The Best, Most Creative Doing Their Thing In Your Zip Code!

Please Include: Any Links, Sites, Twitter, Facebook or Black People Meet Pages (Haha, Please Don’t)!

    2. Venues: echoplex in Echo Park, the wiltern, hotel cafe in Hollywood

    3. Stores: American Rag on La Brea, Opening Ceremony on la cienega, Slauson swap meet, Black Market on Sawtelle

Angeleno Tips to make it extra chill…

Hiking: Start a morning at Runyon or Griffith. Malibu state park has dope trails as well.

Driving: We are a driving city and one of the best things you can do is drive around listening to your favorite tunes with good people. Try taking the 10 freeway all the way west to Santa Monica and drive up PCH. Let your hair down and get jiggy.

Backyard Boogie: Find a big backyard and grill, drink, and just West Coast. It’s about choppin it up over some drank and bonding with new and old friends.

    Hope that helps!

    Hey Vashtie

Reading your blog with love from Chicago.

The best stores out here are obviously St. Alfred’s and RSVP, Belmont Army, Anthropologie, LDRS Chicago.

The best DJ for sure is Vic Lloyd–don’t let anyone tell you any different!

Best Venues….hmmmm….. The Underground, ummmm…..this is a tough question because every time I go out I end up hating the venue and the crowd. But Hearts is cool for a cheap thrill.

Bring all your friends including Theophis London, and Kendrick Lamar, and Elle and even Vladdy (I’m allergic to cats though)

    Love,

@GinaforDummies (Instagram/Twitter) I might not have a Twitter soon but I’ll forever be Instagram shawty…

MUST VISIT**Worcester, MA (Largest City in Massachussetts aside from the capital Boston). Yes, I know- it’s not so grand as the major cities in the US but I have seen many changes and YES my city is on the come-up :)

Best DJ – Jack Frost, he does The Boiler Room every Friday which is great venue (was once an industrial space)

Best Shopping – ” Crompton Collective” Which is an Antique and Artisan mall- The cutest Antiques and handmade items from local vendors. Its now become an attraction whenever people come to visit. My friend from H.S. opened this amazing mall earlier this year..she was formerly selling Vintage clothing and accessories out her Haberdash mobile boutique/.

Also, there is a local skating rink which is behind City Hall – open till end of Feb 2013. Its only $3 for entrance and is actually noted to be bigger than the Rockefeller Skating Rink in NYC ;)

For food I would say Boulevard Diner and Coney Island Hot Dogs (in lieu of the Wonder Wheel)..this wonderful establishment which has been around since 1918 and is very nostalgic in a sense that all the original seats (etched name carvings throughout), jukebox and tradition. However, if you prefer something a bit more swanky the Sole Propreitor is really yummy!

I think it would be super cool to visit this city even its for 1 day!

    Hi Vashtie,

This is my third comment (Lol!) but today I actually had some free time and took the liberty to find some places in Miami. Just so you know, the places I chose are personalized for you, so Vashtie, I ensure you that you don’t have to worry about going on a tour that don’t match who you are and what you like to do. Plus with a tour guide (preferably homie or “bredren” lol) like me who you most likely can vibe with on all levels, a good time is inevitable.

To my understanding you visited Miami before, but to get to know it even better would be awesome. That way you will have a home away from home if need be.

To really appreciate South Florida, it’s best to plan a visit around mid-late spring when the chill has finally knocked off and the weather becomes more tolerable before becoming too hot. With the time soon approaching, we can start to plan ahead.

South Florida overall is expensive and Miami is no exception. Whatever mischief we decide to get into (joking!) will definitely depend on your budget and length of time to stay. We really don’t have to hit every club in the scene, or any expensive ones for that matter. Sightseeing would not be a cost issue, besides gas (Which would be up to me unless we decide to take the metro rail to a few places). Having said that, I think the most focus for your budget should be towards lodging and of course plane tickets. As far as food, I understand that you are a vegan and there are a small handful of vegetarian restaraunts around. If none satisfy you, we could always improvise on the menu while checking out more popular places.

Below is a list of designated spots recommended just for your personal tastes. The places we end up going and the order we go will really depend on where the flow takes us, which may have to take the course of at least 2-3 days:

    General Sightseeing:

    Downtown Miami
    Miami Bayside Marketplace
    Miami Riverwalk
    Key Biscayne
