outdoor concert + rain + reckless youth = stupid kids covered in mud

*i can remember walking home that day, afraid of what my mother would say. when i arrived, i rang the doorbell. she opened it to find her youngest child drenched in mud. i was prepared for a bitch slap to the face. instead, she laughed for a good minute and told me to go to the backyard to hose me down. i know she was thinking “is this what happens when your child gets a scholarship to a school full of white folks?”

SLIM is so great. when i realized we were both wearing damn near the same yellow top and looked like twinsies, i had to take this photo.

*back when i suntanned while soaking in baby oil because i liked to be super brown…this was before i realized sun rays could be skin damaging to brown folks. bendito!

time flies. JONATHAN MANNION is one of my favorite artist friends ever. he’s so talented and super sweet…and he loves all things TRINIDAD and can imitate the accent spot on (which is amazing because a lot of people lump caribbean accents all into one JAMAICAN accent – they’re all different).

while working at ISLAND DEF JAM as DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE SERVICES in 2006, this photo was taken on set of a photoshoot for YOUNG JEEZY and USDA. before they arrived, the photographer was getting ready and needed a similarly colored subject to stand in…voila! here i am. just call me YOUNG JEEZY’S stunt double.

i always hated this effect, “thermal camera”, and i equally disliked it when people used it…then i turned it on and spent 20 minutes trying to figure out what were the factors that changed certain yellows to red, etc. soon found out that white light created the yellow…wait, i sound like a douche. nevermind…

*i know why everyone uses this now, it hides every thermal flaw!
