Celebrating The Goddess Of Pop, Cher

The 1990’s was undoubtedly a generation of boy-bands and girl-groups-galore and nothing says sweet nostalgia more than the Backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey, Shania Twain and, of course, Goddess of Pop, Cher.

Cherilyn Sarkisian, better known as Cher, has been in show business for nearly half a century with multiple number 1 records from “I Got You Babe,” in 1965, to “Song for the Lonely,” in 2002. She has travelled the unique path of an intergenerational popstar.

Today we honor the American singer and actress who’s been nominated for the best-actress Oscar (Moonstruck, 1987), three Golden Globes (The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, 1973; Silkwood, 1983; and Moonstruck), an Emmy (Farewell Tour Special, 2003), and a Grammy (best dance recording, “Believe.”)

Cher’s personal and professional achievements has been an inspiration for both young and old to remind us that age is but a number: from a spectacular performance in the comedy, Stuck on You, to Burlesque featuring Christina Aguliara, a Golden Globe-nominated musical that grossed over $110 million, and ultimately premiering for Marc Jacobs fall/winter advertising campaign in 2015.

To honor our favorite pop diva, we’ve compiled our Top 5 fashion looks of the Goddess. Let us tell you now, this woman is the queen of “Been There, Done That”:

Pre-millenial MET Gala looks.

Full body fishnets. Isn’t it crazy how history just constantly repeats itself?

Coachella inspo before Coachella was even a thing.

I wish we could make costuming this sexy and elegant at the same time.

…And the couture looks go on for days.

The least we could say is thank you Cher. Your influence on culture was much needed and will forever be glorified and appreciated.
