For years, the art collection of the late David Bowie was kept hidden from public view — until now!
Art powerhouse Sotheby’s is set to exhibit and auction Bowie’s 400 piece collection that includes work from Jean-Michel Basquiat, Frank Auerbach, and Damien Hirst. From November 1st-11th, the main exhibit, appropriately named Bowie/Collector, will be held in London, and followed by a three-part auction. The collection is expected to be worth over $13 million USD.
And for those who can’t wait until November to see the rock & roll legend’s extensive art collection, Sotheby’s plans to bring some of his rare pieces to a city near you! Starting next week, fans in London, Los Angeles, New York City, & Hong Kong will have the chance to preview some of Bowie’s treasured art, including sculptures and design furniture.
