1. Juvenile had an Anniversary Last Week
Soulja Rag, the popular album by rapper Juvenile turned 20 this week. The album was Juvenile’s first studio album with Cash Money Records, and all the songs were produced by Manny Fresh. When reminiscing on the album, Manny Fresh said “what was so cool about Soulja Rags is it kinda brought everyone together as a team. It gave Cash Money a sense of teamwork.”
2. New Music From Paramore!
Paramore returned to the music scene with a new album, titled After Laughter. This is their first album since the release of Paramore in 2013, and is the fifth studio album for the band. Listen to the single “Hard Times” below:
3. Nike Drops a Release Date for The Nike “Air Max 97 Gold”
The release date for the Nike “Air Max 97 Gold” is Thursday, May 18th, 2017. The gold release is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the shoe, and will be released in men’s, women’s, and children’s sizes. We hope you have your sneaker plug already locked down because these babies are golden, literally.
4. KRS-One Dropped His 13th Solo Album
Rapper KRS-One dropped his 13th solo album, a project titled The World is Mind. This is the follow up album for his 2015 release of Now Hear This. You can stream The World is Mind here.
5. Jay Z Signed $200 Million Dollar Deal
This week, Jay Z signed a $200 million 10 year touring deal with entertainment company Live Nation. The deal is a continuation of a previous contract which was signed by Jay Z in 2008, and the renewal has set off rumors that Jay will release an album in the near future (his last album Magna Carta Holy Grail was released in 2013).
