Teyana Taylor explains balance with Joe Budden as she talks about her recent behind the camera moves. Teyana has evolved into a director, a passion which she started in 2011. On set, as a model and singer she would assist the crew curious about production.

“On my lunch break I would always turn into a intern[on set], I just wanted to study it, appreciate it.” Teyana Taylor.

Teyana has been a force within both the music and fashion industry. She walked for Yeezy in 2016, choreographed and performed a classic ground-breaking appearance in “Fade” by Kanye West, and she has choreographer credits on Beyonce’s “Ring The Alarm” music video. Her fascination with film led her to create her very own production company, The Aunties. The aunties is a production company ran by women. Her directorial alias “A Spiketea Joint” is an ode to “Do the Right Thing” director Spike-Lee.

Teyana is aware of how important it is for her to have control over her image and artistry. In 2018, she dropped her sophomore album K.T.S.E which received positive reviews from many music publications . From the album she’s directed music videos for “W.T.P”, “Gonna Love Me” and “Issues”. The videos exude authenticity and sexuality, they balance hood and class.  She’s also directed her husbands Iman Shumpert videos “Seductive”, “You” with T.I. and even more collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign , Tyga, Macy Gray and Monica are on the way.
