Flashback Friday: ‘Sade Live’ 1993

A woman who needs no introduction, Sade is perfection personified. While the success of many greats from the ’90s fizzled out with the passing of time, Sade has effortlessly maintained her everlasting iconicism. Her voice is poignant and timeless, the culprit for a series of classics many hold near and dear to their hearts. Filmed during the last two shows of her Love Deluxe World Tour at San Diego State University’s Open Air Theatre in sunny San Diego, California–on the 2nd and 3rd of October, 1993–Sade Live is regarded as a must have visceral performance for music aficionados around the world. The tape of the classic ’90s set was released roughly a year later–in 1994–on VHS and is still available for purchase today!

A testament to the respect she’s received for her distinguished sound and grace, an extensive list of artists have sampled her work over the years.
