my homie KID CUDI had a mixtape release party, sponsored by 10 DEEP and FOOLS GOLD at the RED BULL LOFT. it was a PLAIN PAT production, so you have to know the music is the truth. i’m so excited for CUDI, can’t wait for the world to love him as much as we do in little new york city.

CUDI asked me to introduce him, and i was a little nervous. KANYE had just showed up and the crowd was going berzerk. anyways, here is how it went.

we kicked off our first party at SANTOS with a big bang. NAS came through and later, BUSTA made an appearance. it was madness. that venue is the flyest thing in NYC right now. it makes me feel like what i imagine new york was like in the 80′s! *MIKE (FRANK 151)(i’m only in a lot of these flicks bc i broke my camera and ELLE was photographer for the evening).*ELLE and TIP.*GRACE, the bestest mentor i’ve had thus far.*CHRISTIAN (FRANK 151).*NAS and ELLE-INGTON.*ANNA BANANA.*RAUL and S DOT.*NAS and BUSTA (what it is right now).*MR.PINK and RAUL.*S DOT and OSCAR WILD.*even my boy from ALBANY, DAVE, came through. i’ve known him for like 15 years and i don’t get to see the lad enough! check out his mustache tattoo on his fingers.the party was insane. wish you all can make it next time.

it takes me a super long time before i can become friends with someone because i am a weirdo, but when ELLE was first assisting me during an editing session she broke out all these amazing jokes and won me over. at one point she referenced this AMAZING documentary on HBO about junkies in relationships – “DOPE SICK LOVE”.

*JUNIOR SANCHEZ and JOEL MADDEN.the shoot was easy breezey and JUNIOR, JOEL and BENJI were such sweethearts. the day was going great until the casting director came with some girls that didn’t meet my requirements or JOEL’s. my vision was a simple (believable) girl that he would be interested in. some of the girls that came from casting looked like they had just been featured in “girls gone wild”. i searched far and wide for a simple, beautiful girl…until a suggestion was made and the most unlikely girl became the “love interest”.

*JOSH “J-O” MADDEN, stylist extraordinaire and all around cool guy.*i couldn’t turn down a dare when ROB said we should smoke some cigars. i haven’t smoked a cigar since i was 5. yes, you heard me right. my crazy, drunk, west indian dad thought it would be funny if i smoked cigars…and also sipped heinikens. no wonder i’m so crazy! anyways, cigars taste like looseleaf paper soaked in urine – not appetizing.i can’t wait until i can show you guys the video itself. next post will be stills from the video. i’m so siked. the video looked amazing…v$

saturday morning we landed in the city of sin. we checked in to our nice rooms at the WYNN, had a brief production meeting and met my amazing DP BRANDON COX. after, tried to kick it at the pool…10 minutes later i was alerted that our location (the HARDWOOD SUITE at the PALMS) was available for scouting. so, we ran over there…
