wow, i live. i was recently introduced to her music and style by my friends SHANNON and RAUL. at the last 1992 party they RAVED about her and i had to do some research. aside from having dope music, her style is phenomonal. she pushes boundaries and that’s so refreshing during rough times like this. any of my overseas peoples into her? do tell…

*as RAUL would say “GAG, BITCH” (while snapping his fingers)!

Oprah, Michael Jordan and Deep Dish Pizza! CHICAGO, here we come!

OSCAR, ELLE and I will be there to celebrate the momentous occasion of MIKEY’S 21st birthday!!!

rad video: PEARL JAM – “Do The Evolution” by Todd Macfarlane

civilization, huh? this video has blown my mind since the the day it came out 10 years ago. legendary comic book artist/writer and toy designer TODD MACFARLANE (known notably as the creator of SPAWN) animated this video. it’s graphic, it’s genius, it’s epic. enjoy your tuesday lovelies!

oldie, but goodie: “WHEN LINES ARE CROSSED”!

as if being a kid wasn’t hard as it is…

being a kid is very weird. you’re just born into these lives you have no control over and you have people telling you what to do. in some respects, youth may be easier…but it’s also very tough. trying to figure out who you are and make sense of the world around you.

then you have douchebags making fun of you…for whatever reason it may be (i always got made fun of for my no-name sneakers :( ). i watched this HBO DOC about KIDS WITH TOURETTES and it made me very sad and happy. sad about stupid people who torture these kids and happy that some of these kids are very positive about a hard situation.

i get it, TOURETTES is weird and slightly funny…and what can you expect, we’re human and odd things make us laugh. like how sometimes we may stare in public places when we see things that we’re not used to, mostly due to curiosity. how about we take a good look (laugh to ourselves if we feel the need) and move on.

when i was a little lad and my older, cooler sister was in highschool i wanted to be just like her. she made it easy by liking cool things like denim jackets, hypercolor and DEPECHE MODE. their name translates into “fast fashion”, yet they’ve stayed in style for decades now. i saw them perform at MSG in 06 and it was a brilliant show….DAVID GAHAN (lead singer) murdered it. here are a couple of classics you should know about if you don’t already ;)

“Enjioy The Silence”

“Personal Jesus”.

cute (and creepy) kid: little girl singing.

i’m really sorry, but this kid gives me the heebie jeebies. i know all the details are there for cute and i feel bad saying it, but it’s borderline nightmare inducing to me. its like her eyes and the song are hypnotizing me to join a cult. eeek, so sorry.

Q TIP and THE COOL KIDS show and afterparty!!!

this show is a must. THE COOL KIDS rocked it and Q TIP killed it. he is such a legend. please see it if it comes to a city near you!

*THE COOL KIDS put on an entertaining show as always. the HIGHLINE was packed.

*NYC nightlife legend BILL SPECTOR was there. he’s running things at the new GREENHOUSE club.

*RICH MEDINA and DJ SOUL were there also…

afterparty at GREENHOUSE! a sort of eco-friendly club on Varick and Vandam.

*TIP and DIDDY “Take That, Take That” COMBS.

*BUSY BEE on the mic.

*”the look of chaos”. it was really really hot in there and crowded with all sorts of “kind of” models. you know, tall and skinny good looking people that may or may not be in your urban outfitters catalog.

*TIP and CHUCK cooling out.

*MEL without his camera looked so weird. you know when you’re used to seeing someone a certain way, like someone you know behind a counter and then you finally see them outside the counter and you’re like “dude, you have legs?”. okay maybe it’s just me.

*the adorable duo CHUCK INGLISH and MIKEY ROCKS.

*EBONY WILDCAT looking amazing. i was actually going to wear that outfit, but changed my mind last minute.

*THE COOL KIDS and DIDDY. i had to take this picture, its so great.

*OSCAR and I will be partying with these guys in CHICAGO on the 12th! it’s my first time, but i’m hoping to meet OPRAH.

slow motion for me…

things in super slow motion look so good.
