celebration: KID CUDI ALBUM RELEASE PARTY at THE JANE HOTEL NYC!!! (september 15th, 2009)
knowing celebrities and famous people in the midst of their fame is one thing, but witnessing a real friend go from an “unknown” to a well known famous musician is another. last night, new york came out to celebrate a friend…KID CUDI. the vibe was extreme happiness and love for our dude…SCOTT MESCUDI!

afterwards, we went to GOLD BAR. it’s cute and our friend LEGENDARY DAMON throws the ill parties there, but sometimes the employees there just don’t cooperate. then, you have to get a little loud…

thursday night was a SUCCESS! i arrived at 9, after a fun fitting with KARL JUSTIN. we ate RAW CUISINE and caught up on some good jokes. the scene was as expected, fun and laid back…good food and drinks! i, of course, had nothing…as i was meeting and greeting all night.
it was good to see familiar faces and meet more! i held it down with your requests…except for new RAEKWON and JAY-Z, because i didn’t have it (but DIANA ROSS, SLUM VILLAGE and more of your requests were pumping!!!).
*RAW FOOD from QUINTESSENCE in NEW YORK CITY. it’s amazing. i know, raw food sounds not so appetizing…but, i promise it’s very good. KARL and i chowed down…
*GREY ANT sent me some blazing pieces! i wish i could keep them all!!!
*MILLION DOLLAR MANO & HOLLYWOOD HOLT came out as soon as they landed! they are such great homies!!!
i rocked a skirt from NOMIA, tank from H&M (fancy, right?), gladiator sandals and custom hoody (with embroidery and carbon fiber additions) from NIKE, bag by BALENCIAGA (or as RAUL says “AGA”)

the streets was like (what i imagine) spring break is like…mad heads walking around from party to party, intoxicated and overdressed or underdressed for the evening. it was very cool actually. every store was open and it was like adult trick or treating…looking at clothing you can’t afford and mingling with friends, while receiving little treats at every establishment.
i walked by BATHING APE earlier and peeped this insane line for KID CUDI! it was only 3pm and he already had a line. kudos! CUDI used to work at the store and was the guest of honor with his very own character on a tee-shirt!!! i think thats so great.

on our way to OPENING CEREMONY for the’re highly anticipated BLOCK PARTY. i think the cops broke it down, but it didn’t stop the party inside. thank goodness that my homies were apart of the event and let us in…otherwise, it would have been NO BUENO.

by the end of this party i was exhausted…but, we stopped at the PRADA store that had THE RAPTURE performing LIVE!!!

ok, at about 10pm something i was exhausted…but, i had to do a wardrobe change into a super cute GREY ANT frock and attend the BMI afterparty. KARL and i decided it would be totally ME to wear my biker boots and motorcycle jacket. i own some great heels, but i have the grace of a caveman when i walk in them

party| Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse Release at Bowery Ballroom + Debbie Harry and Kid Cudi performance!
last night was the release party for LOUIS VUITTON’s re-release of the STEPHEN SPROUSE collaboration. the afterparty took place at BOWERY BALLROOM, and there was a frenzy to get in. we were greeted with a security man and before the PR people had a chance to hassle us, the kind security gentleman asked if i was the “nice girl” who walked by everyday (when i lived near BOWERY) and i said yes and he quickly let us in – bypassing the lists and checks. sometimes being nice is all you need on your resume!
the place was filled with older fashiony types. the kind that looked like they partied super hard in the 70′s and 80′s and now have a lot of money so they dress a bit sophisticated, but are still wild when they want to be.
i came decked out in what i always wear, my homeless man kit; denim cutoffs, leggings, boots, flannel, hoody but -i accented it with a LOUIS bag. i wanted to support MARC and a French family i don’t know. most of the women attended the party in CHANEL, which i thought was a little uncalled for.

then, guess who we bumped into…quite literally on our way to the bathroom! KID CUDI!

UPDATE!!! this kid happens to be STEPHEN SPROUSES nephew! wearing an original robot piece designed by his amazing uncle STEPHEN! thanks to HERON PRESTONS BLOG and PETE’s parent, JANDY SPROUSE, for keeping me in the know his name is PETE KERBY MILLER and he’s adorable!

a few weeks ago, Q TIP asked me to help with his release party (RENAISSANCE, go cop that) and Election Party. it played out perfectly…music by Q TIP and MARK RONSON and DJ SOUL, performance by KID CUDI, live streaming video from CNN.com, Macs donated by Apple with RSS feeds, catering, fresh popped popcorn and balloons (red, black and green). thanks to everyone who came out and supported! even PUFF came through to show some love. the night was LEGENDARY!!!
