Donald Glover, who also goes by his rap name Childish Gambino wrote and starred in the short film Clapping for The Wrong Reasons featuring Chance The Rapper. The film debuted in August of 2013 and depicted a day in Gambino’s life. There were many other guest appearances in this 24 minute long project including actress Danielle Fishel, primarily known by her role as Topanga in Boy Meets World, rapper Trinidad James, and musician Flying Lotus. The duo will team up yet again to headline the 2017 Governors Ball in June.
Just last week Chance teased fans on Instagram with a photo of the two leaving some suspicion that there’s another collaboration in the works and the internet just couldn’t deal. The last time we heard the two on the same track was on “The Worst Guys”, apart of Gambino’s 2013 album Because The Internet. Well, it’s been a few years and we’ve been waiting. While making a name for himself in the rap game, Gambino has always been an all around successful television/film writer, producer, and actor. As we recall Clapping for the Wrong Reasons, we must acknowledge his recent Golden Globe Award nominations among many others for his 2016 television series Atlanta.
