The numbers have come in for Donald Glover‘s highly-anticipated FX series, Atlanta, and they confirm what we all thought — the show is a bonafide hit. FX Networks report that the series debut garnered the “best audience of any basic cable primetime scripted comedy”.

Vulture reports the series premiere last Tuesday “drew 1.8 million total viewers and 1.2 million telecast viewers in the network’s target demo of adults under 50”. This hasn’t occurred since the 2013 launch of Inside Amy Schumer To further cement the show’s success the series has received a 90 Metacritic score making it the highest rated comedy series this year.

It’s official. Atlanta has proven to live up to the hype and we hope to see the series continue to flourish.

Make sure you tune in with us at on FX at 10pm EST on Tuesdays. And if you haven’t seen the episodes, catch up on episodes below via DDotOmen.
