CULTURE: Ingrid Debuts ‘Trill Feels’ EP With Crawfish Boil In Houston

Parkwood Entertainment artist Ingrid recently released her debut EP entitled, Trill Feels. The protege’s family, friends, and supporters were able to get the first listen during the Trill Feels EP release party, hosted by Saint Heron. The event was held at a local venue in Downtown Houston, Texas just a couple of blocks down from the Third Ward area that Ingrid and Beyonce grew up in. Saint Heron made sure that the events ‘feels’ were nothing less than ‘trill’  by incorporating an intimate performance by Ingrid, a southern style crawfish boil, an open bar, and a ‘Trill Music Hour’ with sounds provided by Kyle Woods.

Event attendees enjoyed their evening congregating over delicious crawfish provided by Saint Heron, getting lit thanks to the open bar, and dancing the night way to 90’s hip-hop and R&B while waiting for Ingrid to debut her new music.

DSC09921Ingrid began her set with “Double Pedigree”, the first track and single off of the EP, she immediately grabbed the crowd’s attention with her words. This track is filled with undeniable bars and lyrical jabs,a perfect introduction for new listeners to get to know Ingrid as a lyricist and female rapper who is coming into the game at such a pivotal moment in pop culture, history, and politics. Ingrid then quickly introduced herself and took us on a musical journey through her debut EP, Trill Feels. The 29-year-old artist’s friends and family were front row and center, spitting every word to every song while the crowd listened with eager and open ears. The energy in the room was raw and authentic.

Trill FeelsThe seven-track project serves as an introduction to Ingrid and her one of a kind sound, we can guarantee that you have never heard anything like it. Trill Feels is Ingrid’s truth translated into a smooth, eclectic, empowering, and idiosyncratic EP. Ingrid’s southern swag is the cherry on top of this project, with features from Houston’s own Kirko Bangz and Devin The Dude. Trill Feels also features singers/songwriters Sevyn Streeter and James Flauntleroy. Birds of a feather must really flock together because Ingrid’s songwriting skills have been proven to be notable as well, with the rapper being responsible for some of the heartfelt lyrics on “Love Drought” by Beyonce.

In the words of Ingrid via “Love Drought”:

The only way to go is up.
