Woman Crushin’ It Wednesday: The Evolution of Teyana Taylor

Teyana Taylor has done nothing but win our hearts (and increase the number of gym memberships), since cruhsin’ it in Kanye West’s Fade music video that premiered at the 2016 MTV VMA’s. In the erotic video that nearly broke the internet, Taylor performed a dance inspired workout in a two piece set. Her skin glistened with sweat and booty popped to each beat as we sat in absolute awe at her perfectly fit body. Within hours social media erupted with parodies and remakes. She later won a Soul Train Music Award for her performance in the video.

While this was many people’s first glimpse at the talented 26 year old, she’s been crushin’ it since 2007. Her first television debut was on MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen. Since then she’s signed to major record labels including Kanye West’s GOOD Music label through Def Jam. She has choreographed for Beyonce and has been starring in music videos since ’07. She’s even recorded her own music, producing her very first mixtape in 2008 called From A Planet Called Harlem. And it doesn’t end here. Taylor has since then acted in a number of films, modeled for a number of fashion shows, and designed a pair of sneakers with Adidas. In the past year alone Taylor has slayed several performances including a Lil’ Kim tribute at the VH1 Hip Hop Awards.  She has also graced the covers of PAPER and Wonderland magazines.

Her talent, beauty, and grace has always shined in the music, fashion, and art worlds. She is now beginning new endeavors into the fitness realm. After the Fade video, everyone’s been dying to know how she got her killer body and how they can get it too. Taylor teamed up with VOGUE to produce another dance inspired health & fitness video. She told E! News, “I just dance. I almost feel like dance is so underrated in the fitness world.” So, she decided to merge the two. Back in October she launched a new website, Fade 2 Fitness, where she will release at home dance workouts and choreography. Along with the fitness program, she has tapped back into her fashion senses and added an apparel collection.
