Zayn Malik Flexes His Independence For Highsnobiety Magazine

Despite all the controversy, rumors and cynicism, Zayn Malik has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with. And he’s not done yet. In fact, his gutsy departure from the internationally successful boy band, One Direction and R&B solo album seem to have only been the beginning.

In Highsnobiety’s 13th issue, independence is the reigning theme. The publication shares that while their decision to feature Zayn may look outside of their ‘usual framework’, they couldn’t deny the boldness of his talent.

“We were intrigued by his abrupt ecision to outright quit the massively popular UK boy band One Direction and go it alone. Reinventing himself and shaping his own identity, Zayn has evolved in sound and style ever since, and has seen solo success at a recordbreaking level.”

The featured photos do their part to further affirm Zayn and his creative aesthetic. Not only is he fashion minded–rocking both Givenchy and Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2016 menswear for the issue, he’s an artist and avid collector of things that translate from the mind to canvas. Comics, graffiti, sci-fi, modern or classic art–you name it, Zayn is influenced by it. So it’s no surprise to find the alluring photos of him levitating to the sky, staring ahead with laser eyes and moving objects with telekinesis.

In the next coming months Zayn is expected to release a gorgeous photographic autobiography as well as a collaboration with legendary fashion force Giuseppe Zanotti. Word on the street also states a future series inspired by his time in One Direction to be in development as well as a sophomore follow up to his debut album, Mind of Mine.

Sounds like the sky is the limit, and then some.
