Jungle Pussy’s ‘JP3’ Should Be Every Woman’s Summer Soundtrack

After two years, our favorite Brooklyn rapper is back with more tunes for our headtops! Like Jungle Pussy’s sophomore album, Pregnant With Success, JP3 includes 10 songs but features a number of guest appearances from Rico Love, Gangsta Boo, Wiki and Quiñ. The album also includes the previously released songs “State of the Union” “Trader Joe” and “Showers.”

JP3 is a mixture of Junglepussy’s hard-hitting delivery with sensual, smooth production – making it the type of project that’d be perfect for cruising in the city during the upcoming summer.

“No cook crack with that black girl magic/I’m smokin’ Spike Lee joint, she just gotta have it/Everybody wanna be Black, it’s so tragic,” raps Junglepussy on “State of the Union”, the opening track.

It’s a perfect encapsulation of her general philosophy: she can be pissed off at that state of the world, but she finds peace in channeling her anger and frustrations into searing songs about being, above all, a black woman in 2018. Influenced by everyone from Erykah Badu to Missy Elliott, Junglepussy has existed in her own category of NYC rap for the past few years. Ever since her debut mixtape, Satisfaction Guaranteed, she has acquired a high level of underground acclaim and hasn’t looked back since. Junglepussy is a new kind of female rapper: brashly sexual, and a body-positive feminist. She upholds the legacy of artists like Lil Kim; while still being health-conscious and downright FAB.

Take a listen to JP3 below, and let us know which songs you’ll be vibing to this summer!
