I recently was scrolling amongst my timeline and I came across a commercial from Adidas, campaigning their Prophere sneaker. Within the commercial, I spotted Cam Kirk. Cam Kirk is a photographer based in Atlanta Georgia who’s done photography work for Don C (his Nike AF100 Campaign) to Gucci Mane (who he designed his “Trap God” exhibit around)to Lil Yachty. Amongst his own posting of the commercial, Cam shared that in December of 2011, he was laid off from his job with Adidas and that that was the last time that he ever worked for anyone. Fast forward to 6 1/2 years later, Cam is IN the Adidas commercial alongside super producer Metro Boomin (also ATL based of course), Young Gunna, and other creatives. The commercial sheds light on Cam’s journey as a photographer and glimpses of him capturing Metro and Gunna through the realms of Atlanta.
The Prophere, in which released just four days ago, is not only a dope shoe but it’s clear that Adidas moves with purpose. It’s dope to see the people that are often behind the scenes are getting that opportunity to BE the scene and BE the very vision that can help inspire and capture the minds of people who are in that awk stage of doubt. Adidas is definitely calling all creators and making the #HereToCreate narrative come alive in all places of inspiration such Atlanta. Check out how Cam channels his voice, makes moves within his creative field, and why you can expect him to not give up anytime soon below:
