Three Vegan Ice Cream Brands You Should Try

We are finally getting the spring weather we deserve and what better way to keep cool than with some ice cream. Vegan ice cream that is! Going to a vegan ice cream shop can either be out of the way or leave you a little indecisive, don’t worry your local supermarket should have you covered. I took a quick trip to my local supermarket to check out the frozen aisle, specifically the ice cream section. In my short little trip I saw four different brands of non-diary ice cream. Most non-diary ice cream is mostly made of coconut milk instead of regular milk. Coconut milk has fattiness similar to regular milk that creates a creamy texture, but non-diary ice cream is not just restricted to a coconut milk base, there can be almond milk or soymilk based.

Haagen Daz non-diary Chocolate Salted Fudge Truffle

Some of our favorite ice cream brands such as Haagen Daz and Ben & Jerry cater to vegans with their own non-diary ice cream. Some of Hagen Daz non-diary flavors include Coconut Caramel, Chocolate Salted Fudge Truffle, Peanut Butter Chocolate fudge and Mocha Chocolate Cookie. Ben & Jerry non-diary flavors include Cherry Garcia, Coffee Caramel Fudge, Coconut Seven Layer, Cinnamon Buns, and Chunky Monkey. Although, most of us are very familiar with brands such as Haagan Daz and Ben & Jerry, there are other non-diary ice cream brands that maybe in your local supermarket that caters to vegans such as So Delicious, Coconut Bliss, and Ciao Bella if you’re into sorbets.

So Delicious has three different ice cream lines. One for cashew milk based, another for coconut milk, another for almond milk and lastly a soymilk based line. Some flavors by So Delicious include Peachy Maple Pecan, Creamy Cashew, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, Mint Chip, Cookies ‘N Cream, Chocolate Velvet, and Creamy Vanilla. Coconut Bliss is obviously a coconut milk based ice cream, which has flavors such as Cinnamon Chocolate Fusion, Vanilla Island, Ginger Cookie Caramel, and Cherry Amaretto. If a pint of ice cream isn’t enough for you, Coconut Bliss also makes ice cream sandwiches in Vanilla and Dark Chocolate.

If you’re looking for something more fruit infused but still diary free Ciao Bella’s got you covered. Aside from their Gelato line, Ciao Bella has a Sorbetto line that is strictly non-diary. Some flavors from the Sorbetto line include Blueberry Passion Fruit, Peach Sangria, Blood Orange, and Blackberry Cabernet. What are some of your favorite non-diary ice cream brands and flavors to eat?
