It’s safe to say we’ve taken the word “woman” to an entire new level. “The Woman” is fearless, strong, elegant, and task-oriented in 2017 and at VashtieDotCom, we’re here for it. On Wednesdays we celebrate not only a woman we’re crushing on, but a woman who’s crushing the scene in their respective career. Our Woman Crushin’ It Wednesday today is Karruche Tran.
While many recognize her from her widely publicized relationship with Chris Brown in 2010, Karrueche Tran has since created her own brand that speaks to her talent and perseverance. She started her career as a celebrity stylist before transitioning into acting and modeling. She has held leading cast roles in Amazon Prime’s The Bay, TNT’s Claws and even made an appearance on Kylie Jenner’s Life of Kylie. She is slated to be in Lionsgate’s The Honor List, which will be released later this year. She also signed with Wilhelmina models LA, jump starting her career in the professional modeling world with beauty shots being our favorite.
Beauty comes natural for Tran, so a collaboration with ColourPop, a booming cosmetic line, came easy. KaePop sold out almost instantly online, making her fans beg for more. She tied in her philanthropy efforts by donating a portion of the proceeds to the Environmental Media Association. This organization partners with the entertainment industry to help encourage consumers to live eco-friendly lives. Between acting, a capsule collection and her philanthropy work, Tran seems to have only given us a snapshot of her full capabilities.
Tran is very passionate about ensuring that she uses her public persona to highlight causes and charities that she supports. She was chosen to co-host the IMARA: Women of Empowerment Retreat in Morocco last month, but unfortunately didn’t make it due to film scheduling conflicts. She has also has supported Children’s Hospital, Smile Train, EMA and more.
For National Women’s Month, we will continue to highlight women kicking ass in their field. Tweet us at @VashtieDotCom who you feel we should highlight next.
