Synopsis: Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne. When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

Straight from the mastermind of director Guy Ritchie–the figure behind Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes–comes the final trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Starring Sons of Anarchy stud, Charlie Hunnam as the virtuous King Arthur, the trailer is chalk full of the sword wielding action, giant elephants, clattering armor, fire, knives and primal roars. Blood sprays among debris in slow motion scenes–fitting for the dry yet cold color scheme of the medieval folklore film. But there’s a bit of a switch up from the favored tale. Ritchie’s ‘Arthur’ starts out as more of a roughed edged orphan–thanks to the murder of his father, done by Jude Law’s character, Uncle Vortigern.

“He’s a little bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor,” Hunnam says. “He’s a hustler. He’s a street kid. There’s definitely a harder edge to him than people would imagine. It’s sort of classic Guy Ritchie stuff.”

The actor also believes we’ll appreciate how much deeper Ritchie delves into the psyche of the characters, as this has been one of his most fulfilling creative projects.

“This has been, far and way, the best experience I’ve ever had making a film, and I attribute that wholeheartedly to Guy. It’s so wonderful to work with a filmmaker you trust completely. Guy has the most impeccable taste of anybody I’ve ever met, and it’s been a special and exciting experience working with him.”

If the full length film delivers anything close to the trailer, we’re sure audiences will view Ritchie’s spin on ‘Arthur’ with the same fondness. As the wait slims closer to King Arthur: Legend of the Sword‘s debut on May 12th, are you eager to purchase your ticket?
