Like the true mastermind he is, Wu-Tang Clan legend RZA is set to perform the score to classic 1978 martial arts movie, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, at three select locations this Fall. He repurpose classic Wu-Tang Clan instrumentals and studio records for the film right in front of live audiences.
The film is not only the Wu-Tang Clan’s namesake, but also provided the moniker for their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). RZA shares why the iconic film impacted himself and his group members:
“Beyond the kung-fu, it was the reality of the situation that hit me. Growing up as a black kid in America, I didn’t know that that kind of story had existed anywhere else”.
