Thursday evening, #RedLyfeSeason led a charitable event at SOBs in conjunction with HOT97’s Hip Hop Has Heart & The Fader with proceeds going to St. Johns Bread and Life Organization. To provide the soundtrack for the night, the evening featured slamming performances from Princess Nokia, Young M.A., Funk Flex, and our renaissance woman , Va$thie Kola.
Princess Nokia was first up and tore down the house performing her banger “Tomboy” along with other new material. The crowd couldn’t help but gravitate to her magnetic energy. Aside from charity, Va$htie turnt up the night & celebrated the 10 year anniversary of 1992, a 90’s themed party founded by herself and best friend Oscar.
“1992 was born with the idea in mind, that we would have a place where everyone was welcome and we would play music from the era that we loved – the 90’s! Check the timeline of thangs that 1992 has done!” – Va$htie
Always one to provide the 90s & 2000s nostalgia we love, songs from her set included Remy Ma’s “Conceited” and the emphasis Cash Money banger “Back That A$$ Up”
Va$htie has been cultivating the downtown New York party scene for over a decade so a celebration was definitely in order considering the imprint she’s made in the game. Aside from being the first woman to curate a brand jordan sneaker, she’s directed videos for the likes of Kid Cudi, Kendrick Lamar, and Solange just to name a few.
All ages were admitted to the show with free entry given to those contributing a food item. Throughout the night, a group of young dancers by the name of Poised Illustrious kept the crowd entertained & performed following Funk Flex’s set.
Brooklyn emcee Young M.A. was in the given season as well & performed her new track “Eat” and smash hit “Ooouuu” with her RedLyfe family. She also brought out Uncle Murda to perform their track “Thot.” Check out more photos from the celebration above and stream one of Va$htie’s latest mix below:
