Kehlani Shares “Advice” With Her New Single

Kehlani Opens Up On Her New Single, “Advice”

Kehlani opened up to Zane Lowe regarding the road of trials and tribulations which manifested into her art. The interview segued into the debut of her latest single, “Advice”.

“I was just out of a really bad relationship with someone who I really thought who was going to be like the one person for me and ended up showing me so many times that they weren’t,” Kehlani divulged. “I realized there’s a bunch of girls who are going through the same thing and they needed to hear from somebody…It was really like, a healing thing rather than us just making a song.”

The Oakland native also revealed the cover and release date of her upcoming album, SweetSexySavage, on her Instagram as well. She shared what we can expect from this particular body of work and what makes it different from her previous albums.

“You can expect a lot of really fun vibes. It’s a lot bigger, I think. I’m really proud of the growth that it’s taken. It’s a lot of fun. It’s a lot of inspiration. It’s a lot of making you feel good about yourself. A lot of self-acceptance. So that’s really the basis of this album.”

With the constant hits pouring in from the beautiful songtress, we can expect more grooves and relatable music on the album. “CRZY” and “Distraction” are making waves as hits, as well as the extremely popular single, “Gangsta”–from the Suicide Squad soundtrack.

Fans will find all of the above hits–minus “Gangsta”–on the album upon its release on January 27th, 2017 and can be pre-ordered here.
