After nurturing seeds of creation for the last three years, Solange Knowles has announced the due date of her anticipated third album A Seat At The Table, scheduled to drop this Friday, September 30th. It will be her first body of musical work since her last 2012-released EP, True.

Last summer, Knowles referred to the album as “A project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief, and healing.” With power-punching artist features from Lil Wayne, Kelela and Tweet, and track titles such as “Weary,” “Don’t Touch My Hair,” and “Where Do We Go,” — the message is loud, clear and couldn’t have came at any other perfect time.

Serving as the album’s ink and paper twin, a printed book of poetry and lyrics was sent to 86 people. At the time, Solange withheld news of the album, leaving the only details and clues in photos, one date on one page (9-30-16), lyrics and a series of videos on her website. However, listeners and fans of the singer have no reason to fret as a digital copy of the book is freely available upon download here.

With such promising titles, shining collaborations, evocative photos and poetry, it’s safe to say that A Seat At The Table will shine bright amid a cloudy social climate of current confusion, anger and pain.
