Juicy Couture is making a comeback for the brand’s Fall 2016 collection. Made popular in the early 2000s by Hollywood socialites Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, the Juicy Couture tracksuit is now revamping their athleisure set for a more widespread appeal.
The brand shared this statement: “We’re celebrating 21 years of our iconic tracksuit, enlisting a global girl squad of 21 models and influencers to share how they wear their Juicy Couture tracksuit.” Juicy Couture is reclaiming its spot as a staple for women on-the-go in their #TRACKISBACK campaign.
Parisian fashion collective, Vetements, recently paid homage to the Juicy Couture tracksuit in their Spring/Summer 2017 season creating floor velour length gowns paired with bare faces and dad hats. Vetement lead designer, Demna Gvasalia, has a fond reflection of the plush textile: “I love the comfort of it and the trashiness of it.” The cheeky twist of using velour as the material for formalwear lends itself to the current atmosphere of rule breaking and playfulness in the active womenswear arena.
Will the Juicy Couture tracksuit become a sporty staple once again? Time will tell. View the trailer for the Juicy Couture Fall 2016 collection below.
