Solace Sunday: DIY Bath Salt Recipes

Whether you believe it or not, taking time to pamper yourself with taking a long warm bath has more benefits than just relaxation. In fact, any physical or mental ailment I may be having at the time, I turn to a bath to help ease whatever I’m going through. There’s actually a term for it—Hydrotherapy! Taking nice warm baths could:

-Relieve muscle pain

-Help you sleep better

-Reduce cold and sinus issues

-Calms the nervous system

-Increase blood flow

-Balance your hormones

-Help detox

-Help with skin conditions

Of course, a generic bubble bath could help do the trick but there’s so much more that you could do to your bath! In fact, jazzing up your bath is super easy when creating your own bath salt. The base of what you need to have an amazing bath salt is 2 parts of epsom salt, 2 parts kosher salt and 1 part baking soda. That’s it!

As simple as that is, adding some essential oils to make a bath salt elixir can also help boost the level of relaxation, healing and relief you’re trying to achieve. All you have to do is have your salt bath base and add some drops essential oils, dried fruits, flowers or herbs.
