Summer is slowly coming to an end and if you missed out on “get fit”season, it’s probably on your mind. Hitting the gym every morning can be hard to work into your daily routine and to be quite honest, it can be very pricey. There are a few gyms that can support a “balling on a budget” lifestyle, but many are unwilling to pay over $800 a year just to look fit on IG. Here is a list of tips and tricks to keep fit at home to not break your wallet:
1.Online fitness classes
Youtube is a gem when it comes to personal fitness; with tons of options and licensed trainers making fitness classes available, you can work up a sweat in the comfort of your own home. On Youtube, you can find individual work outs for booty, abs, back and chest, or search for full body work outs that can be done in a quick thirty minutes.
2. Buy a bike
Instead of driving or taking the bus, try to use biking as your main method of transportation. While buying a new bike costs $100 (around the same price as 2 months at the gym) when you factor in the costs of transportation, and the health benefits, there is no reason not to. Browse bikes here.
3. Download Fitness Apps
Fitness apps like Endomondo are a great way to keep fit – the app functions as a “personal trainer in your pocket”, and tracks the duration and intensity of your workout. You can even connect your app with a friend to stay motivated. Download it for free in the App store.
