Essential Pieces From Rihanna’s FENTY x Puma SS17 Paris Show

Rihanna has done it again. The pop queen turned fashion mogul debuted the Spring/Summer 2017 FENTYxPuma line at Paris Week and it was a sight to see. The concept for the collection was “Marie Antoinette at the gym” which was executed perfectly from the setting at Paris’s baroque Hotel Solomon de Rothschild to the pastel color palette of the collection itself. The collection mixes streetwear, lingerie, athleisure and 18th century French style and it all seems to just work.

Models were adored with du-rags, pearls and oversized coats that we need to get our hands on. Check out five must have pieces from the show below.

This sheer babydoll jacket is a fun piece to liven up your wardrobe. The jacket is a great cross between feminine and sporty and we can definitely see it being a Spring show stopper.

With the popularity of body shapers and waist cinchers on the rise adding the corset to a high fashion runway was a risk but FENTYxPuma pulled it off. The silk corsets were paired with garments like hoodies and the oversized jumpsuit above and added structure and a bold flair to the looks.

This deconstructed silk overcoat is truly beyond words. The one-shoulder strap and cinch at the waist is cheeky and sends a strong statement of confidence that we love.

In addition to some stunning garments we get a look at the collections new footwear and accessories. This frilly ruffled knapsack is a brilliant play on the traditional string backpack but adds a girly quality to the sportswear staple.

At first I wasn’t sure about the heeled footwear that was presented in the first FENTYxPuma collection but after seeing this tie-up blue heeled mule I’m sold. These shoes are not for everyone of course and require a certain level of appreciation for the bizarre but I am here for it.
