8 Power Couples from the 90’s Who Made Their Mark

In my last blog post, I profiled 8 celebrity couples whose 90’s relationships may have flown under the radar because of later relationships to come. In addition to those couples, the 90’s did see its fair share of power couples; celebrities whose relationships were so high profile they’re still being talked about to this today. Read below for some of the biggest power couples of the 90’s.

Michelle and Barack Obama

The President and First Lady are the epitome of #RelationshipGoals. Gotta love a couple that stands by and supports one another in any and all circumstances. Even though Michelle insists POTUS was wack back in the day, their relationship is proof you might as well #ShootYourShot. The Obamas know when to lay back and chill and when it’s time to get shit done, and they dominate in every way.

Denzel and Pauletta Washington

Denzel. Denzel. Denzel has been snatching hearts for decades without even trying. The fact that he has had his stunning wife, Pauletta, by his side who matches his fly all in her own way is nothing short of inspirational.

“Will and Jada” has almost become a noun/verb/adjective used in poems, songs, music videos and even in everyday conversation. It goes without saying that Will and Jada’s relationship has been adored for years. You may remember the time he made a show of presenting his wife to the crowd on the red carpet.

Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz

Who can forget Lisa and Lenny? The actress and musician pair have been a crowd favorite even decades later and their daughter, Zoe Kravitz, the spitting image of her parents has carried on the legacy with embrace. These two are hands down one of my favorite fashion inspirations for never being afraid to push the envelope and expressing themselves fully through their dress as well as their craft. Though long separated, the two are very good friends and always support each other and Zoe.

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake

Britney and Justin stole ALL of our hearts. The two knew each other well since being part of the same acting program from a young age, so for them to start dating years later only seemed to make sense. One of the most remembered couples from the late 90s, I had to end the list with the couple that closed out the decade on top.

Jennifer Lopez and Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a huge “J. Lo-Puff Daddy” fan, but who wasn’t? Between their music careers and the stardom that followed, they looked like a match made in heaven. They’ve since split, and have only accumulated more success since then. But just peep their photos from back in the day, you know it had to be lit.

Tom and Nicole are both gorgeous and unforgettable in their time together on Days of Thunder. They were married for 11 years and adopted two lovable children. They have since divorced and remarried, but no one’s forgotten this dynamic duo.

David and Victoria Beckham

One of the world’s most celebrated soccer players and the most recognizable member of one of the most popular girl groups of all time. David and Victoria Beckham began dating in 1997 and since then their relationship has stood the test of time to become #RelationshipGoals for many. Victoria, also known as Posh Spice, had an incredibly successful career while a member of The Spice Girls and has since ventured into television, writing, philanthropy, and more while Beckham is one of the most popular soccer players on the planet in addition to being an actor, model, and brand ambassador.
