The Rolling Loud festival is coming to NY this October. In just a few weeks Citi Field in Queens will be packed with rappers, artists and tons of festival-goers. The shows will be headlined by big artists like Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, Meek Mill and the Wu-Tang Clan, while the rest of the lineup is a “who’s who” of hip hop today. Between the 2 days a lot of rappers will be hitting the stage, but did you know a few of your favorites are also living the vegan or health conscious Here is a breakdown of some of the rappers and artists that will be gracing the stage at Rolling Loud.
A$AP became vegetarian after learning about the conditions and horrors of the meat industry, but it was most recently that he decided to make the switch to become a vegan. On his recent single “Babushka Boi” A$AP proclaims his veganism rapping “I ain’t duck sauce since I became a vegan”
For YG the choice to become vegan was about health. Putting his health first he decided to stop eating processed foods and go vegan all together. The rapper noticed a physical change feeling less exhausted and mentally stronger. His outlook on eating has even trickled down to his kids who have begun eating clean and organic.
RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan has been a longtime vegan and vegan supporter. In 2014 he was the face of a PETA ad campaign and has even begun selling vegan wallets from his menswear brand. And with plans to make the full brand Vegan, RZA is at the forefront of the vegan hip hop movement.
Throughout the golden years of hip-hop Fat Joe realized he needed to make a change for a healthier lifestyle, so he decided to make the change to veganism. A proud vegan Joe recently appeared on the Dr. Oz show this past spring to tell his story of change.
Ok so Meg’s not vegan just yet, but she has been known to enjoy lots vegetarian meals. Through her Instagram account, she’s expressed wanting to experiment with vegetarian and vegan diets after finding out just how bad the conditions are for factory-farmed animals.
