#BeautyTipTuesday: Exfoliating Your Lips is The Key To Smooth Lips

Keep it real; when is the last time you exfoliated your lips? As winter comes to an end, we can easily say that there are more factors than cold weather that cause dry lips. At times, we aren’t drinking our daily water intake, we forget to moisturize our lips and we’re licking them constantly (we all can’t be LL Cool J) causing them to crack, but exfoliating is the key to fresh lips; trust us.

Exfoliation is the removal of the top or oldest skin cells on the skin’s surface. In regards to your lips, yes, it’s the top layer of crust. Removed in a scrub or peel, the skin layers underneath are revealed to promote a healthier and softer set of lips. Our good friends at KNC Beauty are hip to the scrub game, but here’s some info for those new to lip exfoliation:

We all know that the best lip scrubs are animal cruelty-free, but making sure your scrubs are preservative, petroleum, and paraben-free are key as well. This allows you to receive the best results from your scrub. Our favorite KNC beauty scrub is such and contains natural additives to promote ultimate softness. “My Scrub Please” has sunflower oil, shea butter, and moringa oil to protect your lips. This exfoliate ultimately primes your lips to receive the best application of lipstick or lipgloss.

Other homemade scrubs can include coconut oil, mint, and lemon essential oil to provide a spa feel. In all, we know exfoliating may not be on your top list of things to do this week, but after this article, we hope we changed your mind.
