Being More Than Enough & How Elaine Welteroth’s New Book Shows Us How

Being a young millennial in a work place has its sense of trial and error. You’re placed in an environment that forces you to prove who you are, why you’re there, and ultimately questions why you deserve a seat at the table to begin with. It is an overwhelming feeling that will make you believe that you’re simply not good enough. Lucky for all of us, Elaine Welteroth has written her very own memoir telling the world that little than we know, we are more than enough and it’s time to start acting like it.

“More Than Enough” by Elaine Welteroth tells the story of the well-known editor-in-chief, and how she came into her own while doing it her own way. While surpassing adversity and becoming the first youngest African American female editor-in-chief at Teen Vogue, she unleashed a new agenda that she truly believed was of importance to her and her readers of the magazine. Inclusiveness, and diverse representation was something Elaine noticed was lacking, and instead of going along with the masses, she took control and stayed true to who she was.

This book is an empowering message that will express to all readers alike, that’s it time to take control of the space you’re in and know that you’re more than capable, more than ready, and more than enough to do what you’re set out to do in this world. It is a transparent reminder that it’s ok to challenge the ordinary, and it’s ok to be bold and go against the grain. Do not allow others around you to paint a picture of who you are, and what you deserve your outcome to be. We have to keep reminding ourselves that we have been placed at the table for a reason, so when it’s all said and done, you will end up finding your way at the head of that bad boy.
