Chance The Rapper Hosts Private Screening of Jordan Peele’s “Get Out”

Jordan Peele of the Comedy Central series, Key & Peele, has written and directed a new horror film, Get Out. Yesterday, Chance The Rapper hosted a private screening of the highly anticipated movie in Los Angeles. Peele and the rest of the cast Daniel Kaluuya, Lil Rel Howery, and Allison Williams were front and center to answer questions from audience members while Chance moderated.

Peele–who’s recognized for his drastic transition from comedy–claims his inspiration for the thriller derives from the 1968 film Night of the Living Dead.

Get Out has sparked a lot of conversation due to its inclusion of relevant social issues. The film’s protagonist Chris (Kaluuya), is a black man in a relationship with Rose (Williams), a white woman. Chris is apprehensive about meeting her family. He believes they won’t be accepting of their biracial relationship. To his surprise, they’re a whole lot more supportive than he thought. Maybe even, a little too supportive. All is well until he finds out that every black person that visits the area goes missing.

Get Out is set to hit theaters on February 24, 2017. Watch the official trailer below.
