Last night at midnight, rapper Vic Mensa released his debut album (as promised) entitled "The Autobiography ". To bring in the album on a good note, what better way to celebrate than to throw a party ? Following Vic's time announcement for the project, Vic took it upon himself to throw a party on 44th street in city of New York and invite everyone via Twitter.
On the album, Vic serves us a range of melodies as well as lyricism on 15 tracks that include features from Syd, The Dream, Chief Keef, Joey Purp, Saul Williams, Pharrell Williams, Ty Dolla $ign, and Pusha T to production from No I.D. Across the album, you can catch Vic jumping from the major subjects of race, death, addiction and side chicks to ultimately identifying the difference between who Victor is versus Vic Mensa. From a listener standpoint, this project is a mix of all things great from his previous projects (from Straight Up to There's A lot Going On) while highlighting what's never been told through his own narrative (until now that is). With the same cleverness that made us admire his flow from the very beginning, he's definitely "Derrick Rose out the trenches". You can stream Vic's latest now on ITunes and Spotify as well as get the physical signed by the rapper today from 12 to 3pm in Washington Square Park.
