Disney’s Official Beauty and the Beast Trailer Is Here

The day has come. It is finally here. Disney’s first official look inside their live action Beauty and the Beast is ready for you. And it’s everything we hoped it would be.

Starring Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as the narcissist Gaston, Josh Gad as the Lefou and Oscar winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, it’s as if the animated film came to life on its own. That’s how true to the 1991 animated film the live action version seems to be. Scores from Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s original creation will also be sang throughout the film, as well as three new songs from Menken and Tim Rice.

Bill Condon–of Dreamgirls fame–took the seat as director and spun the tale into a grand extravaganza that refashions Belle’s journey to retrieve her lost Father from the imprisonment of a brutish monster. In exchange for his freedom, she takes his place. During her lifetime sentence, she learns that everything is not what it seems and discovers a castle full of enchantment and the abandoned kind heart of a Prince inside of a Beast.

Beauty and the Beast will be released in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.
