If You Don’t Know Now You Know: Donald Glover, The Obama’s, Oukast & More

1. Donald Glover thanks Migos for “Bad and Boujee” during Atlanta‘s Golden Globe acceptance speech.

CONGRATULATIONS!! to Donald Glover and the Atlanta team. The bunch took home two Golden Globes last night, once for Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy and the second for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series. Many of us have fallen in love with the FX series and are more than ecstatic following last nights wins. Perhaps the best moment of the night was Glover’s first acceptance speech where he not only thanked “black folk” and the entire city of Atlanta but he also sent a huge shout out to the Migos. He basically thanked the rap trio for their hit “Bad and Boujee,” how dope is that! What a deserving honor for such an amazing show.

In honor on the win check out Migos “bad and boujee” below.

2. Paul McCartney, Chance the Rapper, Usher and more all showed up to the Obama’s massive farewell White House party.

To help conclude his storied term in office, Barack along with wife Michelle threw quite an elaborate farewell bash on Friday night. Partying until the wee hours of the morning, the massive event proved to be a who’s who of A-list clientele with such stars as Tom Hanks, Chrissy Teigen, Paul McCartney, Chris Rock, George Lucas, David Letterman, Jerry Seinfeld, Robert DeNiro, Jay Pharoah, Steven Spielberg, Stevie Wonder, Chance the Rapper, Olivia Wilde, Anna Wintour and Usher, among others showing face.

Check out these Instagram posts from some of those in attendance.

3. David Blaine almost dies after accidentally shooting himself in the mouth.

David Blaine is no stranger to close calls, but none were closer than his most recent brush with death. On the most recent installment of his show Beyond Magic, which aired Saturday night on ABC, the 43-year-old master illusionist revealed that he accidentally shot himself in the back of his throat while attempting his latest death-defying stunt. The stunt went down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in November. This means a packed house witnessed Blaine nearly bite the bullet, so to speak. He even thanked the audience before being rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for a throat laceration.

Take a look at some images from the stunt below.

2016 saw Lil Yachty proudly wearing Nautica gear in the brand’s lookbook for Urban Outfitters. But now the “One Night” rapper and the popular maritime-inspired brand are linking up again for a special announcement — Nautica will in fact be tapping Lil Yachty for a creative designer role, according to WWD.

The move practically make sense as both share a love for seafaring themes — the brand is entrenched in this lifestyle as seen on its designs and Lil Yachty, who also goes by Lil Boat, is part of a collective called “The Sailing Team.” His lyrics often mention these ocean-inspired subjects as well. It’s not clear what Lil Boat will be “creating” for the brand, but the direction makes sense for Nautica as they try to spread their presence with the younger market.
