For everyone who’s been wondering where Kanye West has been, we may have found what has been keeping him M.I.A – executive producing!
A couple years ago, producer, Damon Dash released a trailer for an upcoming film project that was entitled Too Honorable. The film was supposed to embody a modern-day Paid In Full, but somehow got lost in a state of limbo. After some back-and-forth drama surrounding the film, it was officially brought back to life in December 2017, and will be showing on a big screen near you starting today!
Under the new title, Honor Up, the movie will star Stacey Dash, Cam’Ron, and Dame Dash himself. Styles P and Smoke DZA will have their own cameos as well. The film follows character OG, played by Dame Dash, in a saga that flips between his dedication to his family and honoring his street code all at the same time. As stated in the film’s synopsis, this creates “a deadly underworld where beats pound as bullets fly and even outlaws must live by the code.”
Kanye will not be starring in any roles himself, but he is officially credited as the executive producer which is honestly exciting enough for any true Yeezy fan. Although this film hasn’t had the best promo, there is still hope that a production by Kanye West is bound to do exceedingly well (no pun intended).
It wouldn’t be a true Kanye production if he didn’t somehow intertwine fashion into it. He designed limited edition merchandise for the film and fans alike. The special capsule is comprised of tonal black hoodies, white T-shirts, socks, and a cap that are all embellished with the movie’s title alongside the names of Damon, Cam’ron, and himself.
Honor Up is officially available for viewing at theatres in Atlanta, Chartolle, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, Raleigh, and Washington D.C.
