As if 1 Future album wasn’t enough, the trap icon released yet another 17 track album titled HNDRXX, just a week after the release of FUTURE. It’s safe to say that man has been working.

We are familiar with his frequent reference to his alternative rockstar persona, “Future Hendrix” and it appears that this album showcases his more intimate side. Although both albums provide us with the characteristically trap drums and bass that made millions fall in love with Fut’ in the beginning – lyrically, HNDRXX is noticeably more light hearted and loving than previous projects. In line with the essence of his recent pop-related collaborations with the likes of Maroon 5, production-wise the album is also more diverse in the rhythms utilized – hip-hop loops are seamlessly blended with alternative pop-type beats.

Of course, Future has usually peppered in a few tracks for the ladies in his projects, however, HNDRXX seems to be a 2nd chapter to FUTURE, acting as a glimpse into his multifaceted character, that of both a certified street god and a sophisticated lover. Future churns out another round of radio hits that will surely bode well for mass media sound waves.

One last note, I was able to actually listen to the entire album the full way through without skipping any tracks, if that’s not a testament to the strategic energy invested in the project, I don’t know what is!
