When it comes to Pro Era, everyone has their strength. One person that stands out in the collective is Kirk Knight, who not only can demonstrate his lyrical talent on the mic but can also produce wavy material with ease.
If you’ve been following the collective since 2011, you’ve seen Kirk in action with production from Capital Steez’s American KKKoruption, to Joey Badass’s 1999, The Secc$ Tape (Flight 13 always being my favorite next to Emotionless Thoughts), Summer Knights, B4da$$. For his own album Late Knight Special, and also Cj Fly’s album Flytrap, and a drum kit specifically for his fans just last week (available right now on Splice).
Earlier last year, Kirk Knight announced he was working on a beat project and now we finally have it. Just recently, the MC/ producer released his second album–as a follow up to–Black Noise that shows off his talents for beat-making through 10 intricate tracks. This album specifically devotes to his passion for producing and we’re here for it. Just when you thought this was the only gem we were dropping today, there’s more.
According to Zane Lowe’s interview from last week with Joey on Beats 1 , Kirk also plans to release his joint project with Pro era member Nyck Caution called Nyck at Knight later on this year. Nonetheless to say, this is just the beginning to the crazy year ahead for Knight. For now, listen to Black Noise right here.
