Listen to Hodgy’s Debut Album featuring Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes & Salomon Faye

Aside from a name change, Hodgy (aka Hodgy Beats) is back in the mix with his debut album Fireplace:TheNotTheOtherSide. The album arrives along side major releases from Ab-Soul, J.Cole, Post Malone, The-Dream and Tech N9ne. The emcee who established himself as a central part of the collective Odd Future years ago, has been relatively quiet since releasing 2015’s The Dena Tape 2.

During an interview with The Fader, Hodgy expressed why it was time to release his debut album:

I think the timing – the universe and the cosmos, and where I’m at in my life – it just naturally came together. It wasn’t really a decision that I made. I think it was the decision that was at hand, and I had to either go with it or not. I chose to go with it. I mean this is what I do.

Hodgy has been rapping since he was six years old so its no wonder why his lyrical capabilities stand-out on this project. Aside from lyrics,  production is done by BADBADNOTGOOD, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Knxwledge just to name a few. With 13 tracks total, the album features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes and New York rising talent Salomon Faye.
