Now I don’t know about you, but Barney was one of my favorite shows to watch as a kid. #iAintSorry.
He was always teaching me and the rest of my fellow young’ns valuable life lessons about the things that matter to us kids the most: how to have fun, make friends, use our imagination and even eat our veggies.
All with a catchy tune and a smile. So it’s no surprise to his OG fans, that he hit peak levels of of awesomeness with this video of him rapping a Notorious B.I.G. beloved favorite — “Big Poppa.”
In the video, Barney plays no games as he spits the late great rapper Biggie’s lyrics with the utmost flair. The dubbed visual even tooka it a step further by recruiting everyone’s favorite sidekick, BJ for the of Diddy.
The mastermind behind this overall lit mashup is none other than YouTube user Adam Schleichkorn. Those who have been following him for a while know that he has long cemented his place in hip-hop mashups on YouTube. Some of his more popular videos are: Warren G and Nate Dogg’s “Regulate,” Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s “Tha Crossroads,” and Beastie Boys’ “So What’cha Want” as well as a previous Barney exclusive: a purple dinosaur rendition of Biggie’s “Get Money.”
Schleichkorn explains his latest feature quite simply:
“This song has been on my list for a long time, and I just feel like Barney as Biggie totally fits. Not only is this one of the best rap songs of all time, but it comes from the best rap album of all time, Ready to Die…Cover to cover greatness!”
