Michael B. Jordan Inks Film, TV Deal With Skydance Media, Preps for ‘Apollo Park’


Michael B. Jordan just brought #blackboyjoy to an entire new level. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan has just signed a film and television production deal with Skydance Media along with launching Outlier Productions. The production company is said to also have media vet Wynn Wygal serve as Vice President.

At just 29, the Creed star has already started his first television venture entitled: Apollo Park. The show is said to tell the story of a Detroit native who rises to success and fame through the game of basketball along with the effects of his family and inner city community. Eric Amado from the series Snowfall is the co-creator and will serve as an executive producer. “We are so excited to team up with Michael and Eric on Apollo Park, a riveting sports drama about courage, perseverance and family,” says the CEO of Skydance.

“I love telling true, modern stories and ‘Apollo Park’ — an underdog tale about a very real and very heroic hustler who defies stereotypes and thrives against great odds — has long been a passion project of mine,” Jordan said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter. “Eric and I are excited to join forces with the incredible creative team at Skydance to share it with the world. I’m also very eager to start this new chapter in my career by launching my production company and I am thrilled to have Wynn join my team.”

Jordan has been in Hollywood since his early days on the HBO classic The Wire, Hardball and sports drama Friday Night Lights. With his new deal and television series underway, his work ethic is sure to shine and bring more diversity to television.

Michael B. Jordan will star in Marvel’s Black Panther, due in 2018.
