The Migos are already starting off 2018 with a bang! Their recent album ‘Culture II’ is currently at the number two slot on Billboard’s 200 charts and has just surpassed one billion streams in a month’s time.
Culture II contains the singles “MotorSport” featuring Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, “Supastars” and “Stir Fry,” which originally landed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 200, following its first week out. The album climbed 199,000 equivalent album units, with most of that total being acquired from streams. The “Nawf” Atlanta rap trio achieved 225.6 million audio streams during the album’s first week. An additional 38,000 units were sold through traditional album sales, while another 11,000 of the units came from track equivalent units.
The group celebrated their victory at an intimate get-together on February 16th. Quality Control manager, Coach K, documented the special date on his Instagram. “1Billion Streams in 20 Days is just the beginning,” Coach captioned a photo of the trio posing together with plaques that signify their success.
The Migos’s Grammy-nominated first studio album “Culture” was filled with bangers like “Bad and Boujee” and “Slippery” and stayed at the top of the charts for months. For the Migo Gang to come back just as hard with a sophomore album is truly impressive and is a testament their talent and work ethic. We are excited to hear what other hits they give us to dance to in 2018!
